The Merchant of Venice embarks on a new journey to source the finest ingredients and create fragrances for those who care deeply about sustainability and the well-being of the environment. The brand has always celebrated the history of Venetian perfumery, replicating the ancient trade routes that brought fragrant raw materials to Venice. In 2022, The Merchant of Venice reinterprets the most iconic ingredients of perfumery with its collection Accordi di Profumo, inspired by ancient botanical manuscripts from the Serenissima, while focusing on sustainability and the future.
Accordi di Profumo is an innovative collection of eight natural Eau de Parfums of exceptional olfactory quality, developed in exclusive partnership with Givaudan, a leading fragrance house. Together with the Givaudan Foundation and the Sourcing4Good initiative, Accordi di Profumo highlights the passion, expertise, and dedication to sourcing the finest ingredients for the greater good. The core of each fragrance lies in the selection of sustainable and responsibly sourced ingredients, ensuring traceability and maximum transparency in their origin, contributing to the livelihood of local communities.
The eight perfumes are evenly divided into four main fragrance families, each marked by a distinctive color: Green for the fresh citrus of Bergamotto Italia and Arancia Brasile, Pink for the soft florals of Tuberosa India and Neroli Marocco, Orange for the warm amber tones of Tonka Venezuela and Zafferano Iran, and finally, Brown for the deep woods of Patchouli Indonesia and Sandalo Australia.
In line with sustainability and environmental protection, each perfume is housed in a 30ml glass bottle made in Italy. The matte white finish and glossy black cap complement the vibrant label that denotes the fragrance's name and olfactory family. The boxes, made from biodegradable paper derived from algae, showcase an ancient depiction of the raw material in the same hues as the perfume.
The essence and olfactory purity that define Accordi di Profumo make these Eau de Parfums suitable for wearing individually or combined, embracing the layering concept to create a bespoke fragrance directly on the skin, with unique nuances and facets.
Arancia Brasile evokes the scent of summer: citrus fruits, accompanied by the addictive sweetness of Brazilian oranges. The essential oil is extracted through a process called cold pressing of orange peels, followed by molecular distillation. The result is an elegant citrus scent with a complex fruity, green, dry, and woody character.
